Sickness & Death Plans
Sickness & Death PlansThe Sickness Benefit Plan gives you benefit payments when you fall ill. It also provides a guaranteed cash sum for men when they reach 65 and women when they reach 60. If you die before the maturity age the cash sum is paid to your dependents. In addition, there are other discretionary grants given to members.

Who is it for?
Any man or women in good health, over the age of 15 up to the age of 50, can apply for membership.

What are the benefits?
• Sickness benefit - £12 a week
• Endowment assurance - from £120 to £600
• Optical and dental grant up to £35 each year
(This is a discretionary benefit and is reviewed annually)
• Confinement grant - £20

How much will it cost?
Contribution rates are relative to your age on joining. The minimum contribution is £1 every four weeks.

The benefits shown above are for a man aged 30 and would cost £1.28 every four weeks (£16.64 a year).

There are 5 different scales of payment which give progressively higher endowment cover. Additionally, paying multiple units can increase the amount of sickness benefits.
