Regulations designed to protect you from identity theft and to protect organisations from attempts to use them to launder money mean that financial services organisations, including Druids Sheffield Friendly Society, need to prove the identity of their customers.
Applicants for our Stocks and Shares ISA over the internet therefore need to send us 2 documents as explained in the lists below at the time of their application.
Please do not send originals of documents that you want back – photocopies are acceptable. We keep a copy of the proof that you send on file with your application.
Please note that if you have lived at your current address for less than 3 months, the regulations require us to verify your previous address as well.
List One - verification of identity
• Current EU Passport
• Current Full UK (old style) Driving Licence*
• Current UK Photo Card Driving Licence with counterpart slip*
• Inland Revenue Tax notification*not P46 or P60 (less than 12 months old)
• State pension/benefit book/notification letter* (less than 13 months old)
• Current blue disabled drivers pass
• Current Firearms Certificate
List Two - verification of address
• Gas/Electricity/Telephone (not mobile)/Water Bill etc (less than 3 months old)
• Mortgage statement (less than 13 months old)
• Council Tax Bill (less than 13 months old)
• Bank/Building Society statement (less than 3 months old)
• House or motor insurance certificate (less than 13 months old)
• Solicitors letter confirming house purchase completion (less than 3 months old) **
• Current Full UK (old style) Driving Licence*
• Current UK Photo Card Driving Licence with counterpart slip*
• Inland Revenue Tax notification*not P45 or P60 (less than 12 months old)
• State pension/benefit book/notification letter* (less than 13 months old)
• Electoral Roll listing*
Verification highlighted with an asterisk (*) is acceptable on different lists as shown above. It can't be used more than once, as two different types of verification are required.
** If this check is used, you must also verify the previous address.
